Darren's favorite toys

1. Darren loves this walker. This is the toy that Darren spend the most with. Up to today he is still playing with it in a different ways. Use it as walker to go around the house. Sit on and "drive" it like a car. Or just play with the sound and musical functions. This is the first toy that keep Darren interest for such a long time. He usually get bored with toys very fast. Kudos to Fisher-Price!

2. Mickey makes him laugh. It got to be something about Mickey that make it so popular with kids around the world for so many years. Darren enjoys holding Mickey while sleeping. His favor act is throw Mickey down beneath his bed, and then try to pick him up again; and then repeat the same act tirelessly.

3. Children books. The very first book we read to him since he was 4 month old is "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Mom (Florence) has read it so many times that she could even remember the whole story and read to Darren without even looking into it.

4. An airplane with a piggy ball. Price of a toy doesn't always correlate to amount of the fun one can have. This one of the least expensive toys Darren has, but he enjoy playing with it all the times.

Texas Darren Says howdy!

Daddy and gang didn't find time to update this blog. We were preparing the big move heading south west of the Bush's land. Yap, the whole family moved to Austin Texas. We had enough with the California high cost of living and high mortgage payment for a tiny condo. Daddy got an job offer from the local software company but decided to stay with Oracle because Oracle made a counter offer and allow daddy to work remotely. So we sold our house and moved to Austin on July 4, the independence day!. Our old tenant, Micheal keep calling Darren as Texas Darren (得州达仁) ,it sounds more like a basket ball team or player.

The cost of living in Austin is indeed far lower than California. I rent a luxury 2 bed room apartment just for $1265 per month. In California, a one bed room in a bad neighborhood cause more than this. The apartment has 2 swimming pools, one out door and the other indoor. Gym, and the most impressive is it even has a small movie theater. We can use it for free to watch any DVD movie. It was really fun, first time in my wife I was able to book the whole theater just for my family. We watched a comedy called "Anchor Man". We had a lot of fun and Darren was very cooperative, he felt into sleep at the beginning of the movie.

Here is the link of the apartment, since this is just a blog, the link might not work anymore 10 years from now. Anyway, the apartment complex is Mansions at Steiner Ranch.
